Worked in Washington, Orlando and Miami in hotel sales and marketing. Sold advertising for Travel & Leisure and Bride's magazines and traveled extensively through the Caribbean. Moved to Florida in 1973, living in Cocoa Beach, Orlando, Miami and moved to Punta Gorda in 1997. Involved in sales and marketing and advertising for 30 years. Licensed Florida Realtor since 1985. For real estate - the fun part is finding the perfect home for some one. At first meeting, I try to find out what the people really like and take them on a tour of Punta Gorda, introducing them to our quaint downtown, our historic district, our parks, Fishermen's Village and then into Punta Gorda Isles and Burnt Store Isles. If they prefer non-waterfront, there are many lovely communities available including acreage for horse lovers in Prairie Creek. Naturally I have a complete information package, pictures and our video as sales tools.

I pride myself on my knowledge of the area. My husband and I are very active in the community.

We are both members of the Isles Yacht club where we are part of the Membership Committee, actively recruiting residents and telling them the benefits of belonging. We belong to the Civic Association.

My husband is a Kiwanian. I am a member of the American Business Women's Association and the Business and Community Alliance. Sam and I have co-chaired the auction committee of the Heart Ball and have headed the annual Block Party's Information Booth for the past couple of years. The Punta Gorda Block Party is held every April and draws 40,000 people to our downtown. Streets are blocked at four entry points with bandstands and music ranges from classical POPS to reggae, from country to rock. It is a wonderful, fun-filled day for all ages.

We recently arranged a group of friends and associates for a tailgate party and Beach Boys concert at the Charlotte County Stadium. We love to take large groups of friends and past customers on cruises up the Peace River or out on the Island Star for sunset cruises.

The Charlotte County Air Show also draws thousands of people to the area. With performances by the Air Force Thunderbirds or the Navy's Blue Angels and the Army's Golden Knights parachute teams, there are aerobatics by both modern jet fighters and antique planes. There are many ground exhibits including opportunities to board and walk through modern troop and cargo carriers. It's a very large show and we are very fortunate to have it here in our county.

For a small town (approximately 14,000 people), this community is full of activities. There are several yacht and boat clubs. There many golf courses both private and public. Both Punta Gorda Isles and Burnt Store Isles have courses in the middle of the respective communities.

There is the annual Heart Ball, the Care Ball, the Cattlemen's Ball and activities for the United Way. You can be as active as you want or you can fish from your dock or boat, sail or go to the beach.

We are centrally located between Sarasota and Naples, so there is ballet and theater and wonderful performances by nationally known artists. There are wonderful restaurants and shopping both here and along the 41 corridor.

  Thunderbirds and the Golden Knights parachute team
• The Punta Gorda Block Party in April
